Who is the Founder of Delaney's?
James McKenna “Jim” Delaney is the founding father of Delaney’s Steak Seafood Wine in Madison, Wisconsin. His childhood was spent in Beloit, and his high school years were in Hartford. Jim earned a BS in Biology from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin.
When was Delaney's established?
Delaney’s Restaurant was founded back in 1973, a business he loved and spent a career building. Jim met and exceeded customer expectations by changing the food and wine menu and by making significant remodeling updates to follow with the times.

While Jim passed away in 2011, the legacy of the Delaney Family continues. Jim’s sons — Jim Jr., Dan, and Matt continue their family legacy by hosting their guests with pride.

We have great team members, long term employees, and we take care of them. The actual years that some of our people have spent with Delaney’s can be something that we could also emphasize because that immediately speaks about how our employees are treated. Our Head Chef started working with us since 1987. We’ve had employees as long as 30 plus years. Even our kitchen staff, one of them has been with us for more than 18 years now.
